Dangerous goods shipments
There are two ways to create a shipment with dangerous goods: at parcel level or at item level. Enter dangerous goods details at parcel level when you want to add them directly to a single shipment. Enter them at item level when you want to save and reuse them through a printing favorite.

Before you begin
Make sure the service you want to use has the dangerous goods add-on available. The add-on name differs by carrier — to check whether a service supports dangerous goods, go to > and select Services and addons.
Create a shipment on parcel level
Create a dangerous goods shipment on parcel level when you want to add dangerous goods details directly to the shipment.
Steps
Go to >
Select a sender, receiver, and service that supports the dangerous goods add-on
Select the dangerous goods add-on in Additional services
Enter the required fields for the add-on
Expand Parcels
Enter the parcel details, such as number of parcels
Enter the dangerous goods details in the Dangerous goods section
Notice
Depending on the carrier, limited quantities may be indicated using a separate add-on instead of a Limited quantities checkbox in this section. LQ shipments typically require fewer fields either way.

Field descriptions
Field | Description |

UN number | The United Nations number that identifies the dangerous substance |
Description | Description of the dangerous goods, as required for the shipping document |
Label number | The hazard label number required for the dangerous goods |
Package group | The ADR packing group for the substance, where applicable |
Tunnel restriction code | The code indicating any tunnel restrictions that apply to the dangerous goods |
Package type | The type of packaging used for the dangerous goods |
ADR class | The ADR hazard class of the substance |
Marine pollutant | Whether the substance is a marine pollutant |
EmS | The Emergency Schedule code for the substance, used for maritime transport |
Note | Additional information about the dangerous goods |
Net weight (kg) | Net weight of the dangerous goods, excluding packaging |
Quantity | Quantity of dangerous goods in the parcel |
Flash point | The flash point temperature of the substance, where applicable |
Limited quantities | Marks the shipment as containing dangerous goods within the limited quantities threshold, when available for the carrier |
Separation | Separation requirements for the dangerous goods |

Create a printing favorite for dangerous goods
Create a printing favorite for dangerous goods when you want to save and reuse dangerous goods details at item level across shipments.
Steps

Select New printing favorite
Select Use article level
Select in Service and addons
Select ADR (Dangerous Goods)

This add-on is generic and not tied to a specific carrier, since the printing favorite isn't linked to a service yet. When you use the printing favorite to create a shipment, you still need to select a carrier-specific service and add-on. See Create a shipment on item level.

Leave Items unconfigured so you can select or create an item each time you use the printing favorite. You can also create a printing favorite tied to one specific item, but that's a different use case.

Create a dangerous goods shipment on item level using a saved printing favorite.
Before you begin
Make sure you have a printing favorite set up for dangerous goods at item level. See Create a printing favorite for dangerous goods.

Select a sender, receiver, and service that supports the dangerous goods add-on
Select the dangerous goods add-on in Additional services

Select an existing item, or select to create one
Note
Make sure the item is marked as dangerous goods.
Enter the parcel details, such as weight and dimensions
Enter the dangerous goods details in the Dangerous goods section
