Dangerous goods
Dangerous goods (DNG) shipments contain goods that pose a risk to health, safety, property, or the environment during transport, as defined by the ADR treaty. Limited quantities (LQ) shipments contain dangerous goods below the threshold that qualifies for reduced documentation and information requirements.
When to use this
Use dangerous goods shipments when the goods you're shipping are classified as dangerous under transport regulations. Use limited quantities when the classified goods fall under the quantity threshold that qualifies for reduced requirements.
Key concepts
Dangerous goods (DNG) — goods classified as a risk to health, safety, property, or the environment during transport
Limited quantities (LQ) — a classification for dangerous goods shipped in quantities under the regulatory threshold, typically requiring fewer fields and no dangerous goods declaration document
Add-on — additional functionality ordered together with a service; the dangerous goods add-on must be available for the service you want to use
Note
Not every service supports dangerous goods shipments, and the add-on name differs by carrier. To check whether a service supports dangerous goods, go to > and select Services and addons.
